2025 Spring Fest

On April 12, the Food Safety Human Factor Lab participated in the 2025 Spring Fest organized by the Purdue College of Agriculture. Alumni, students, families, and friends visited our booth to engage in interactive activities and learn more about food safety. Our lab featured the following hands-on experiences:

  • Flour Eye-Tracking Activity: Participants explored how eye-tracking technology is used to study consumer attention when viewing flour packaging and food safety messages.
  • Virtual Reality Farm Tour: Attendees took a virtual reality (VR) tour of a farm, offering an immersive and engaging learning experience. This modern alternative to traditional farm visits was especially popular with kids and young adults!
  • Kitchen Food Safety Station: Designed especially for children, this station used fun games to teach essential kitchen food safety practices and storage tips.
